What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashMaiSv.exe internet access ?
netguard used isp server ntl
You need to ensure that the firewall part of NetGuard allows access for ashMaiSv.exe (avast Internet Mail scanner) if it blocks it you won’t get email.
Pausing or terminating the Internet Mail provider would allow you to send and receive email but you wouldn’t be protected.
Is there any error message? Can you post a screenshot?
How do you get screenshot
Hi mal1509! To make a screenshot, just push “printscreen” button, paste it to any picture editor, save it & post that file here.
Err concurrent connection limit in avast exceeded.
(processors:msinm.exe(19);Port110.Secure(SSL):No Server
Error0x800cc90
Error Number 0x800cc90
As far as I know Avast can’t check mail through the SSL secure connection to server, you may need to use a speciall tool called Stunnel.
By the way, what is your email server?
Outlook Express
NTLWORLD
If I disable Avast works ok and emails ok

Are you sure you retyped the message correctly ? Please try again and use Copy & Paste (through the right mouse button).
The server responded with an error. Account: ‘pop.ntlworld.com’, Server: ‘pop.ntlworld.com’, Protocol: POP3, Server Response: ‘-ERR concurrent connections limit in avast exceeded (processes:msimn.exe[1], Rps.exe[19])’, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90
Well it looks like the error is caused by Rps.exe, a part of NetGuard, namely an anti-virus.

Related to ntlworld_Netguard Anti-virus a package of services, specifically designed to keep you safe and secure with their online services.
So having two resident scanners installed is not recommended as rather than provide twice the protection it can cause conflicts that could leave you more vulnerable. This certainly looks like a conflict, you have to make a choice and only have one Resident AV on your system.
