avast! 5.0.396 - toolbar

Hi Vlk,

This morning after i started my notebook, i didn’t found avast GUI at my toolbar.

Here i attached my screen shoot, and what is actually happened with my avast GUI?

Is there anybody in here, ever met this before?

Do you mean the tray icon to the right of the screen ?

Is it not a hidden icon in the toolbar/taskbar settings ?

Haven’t got a clue about your system as you haven’t anything in your profile about it.

I have encountered this once. It went away right after I reboot my laptop.

Yes you rite, normally displayed after i restarted.

Not that is not hidden icon.

I just start my notebook this morning, since last nite the icon still displayed.
But this morning i don’t understand what is going wrong with this?

What other security based software do you have that might block new startup entries, e.g. Spybot S&D (TeaTimer), AdAware (AdWatch), SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor (StartUpGuard or OnGuard), PrevX, WinPatrol, ProcessGuard, etc. ?

As it could be blocking the AvastUI startup entry, see image.

I only using single protection only avast 5.0.396 on my machine.

I turn off each of Microsoft mine at my machine.

Is that entry in the startup list then (msconfig, startup) ?

If not try an avast repair.

Or if that doesn’t work I guess you could try and create a startup entry for C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\AvastUI.exe /nogui
