Avast 5.0 for Win 2000

Is there anywhere on the site from which Avast 5.0 could be downloaded to install on a Win 2000 computer?

Y use avast 5 when u have avast 6?

The following system requirements are recommended in order to install and run avast! Free Antivirus 6.x on your computer:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4, Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher (any Edition, 32-bit or 64-bit), Microsoft Windows Vista (any Edition, 32-bit or 64-bit) or Microsoft Windows 7 (any Edition, 32-bit or 64-bit).

Windows fully compatible PC with Intel Pentium III processor or above (depends on requirements of used operating system version and other 3rd party software installed).

256 MB RAM or above (depends on requirements of used operating system version and other 3rd party software installed).

210 MB free space on the hard disk, 300MB if you choose also to install Google Chrome at the same time.

Internet connection (to download and register the product, for automatic updates of the program and antivirus database).

Optimally standard screen resolution not less than 1024 x 768 pixels.

Note:
avast! 6.x isn’t supported (isn’t compatible, cannot be installed and won’t run) on DOS, Microsoft Windows 3.x, Microsoft Windows NT 3.x, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows ME, Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, or any others which aren’t specified as supported.

Le Boule,

avast 6 works great with Windows 2000 Pro SP4. You should use version 6 instead of version 5.
Believe me…

I’ll pass this information on. I looked under system requirements for Avast 6.0 at

http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#tab2

and it did not list Win 2000…only XP, Vista and Win 7.

Thanks for the advice.

Believe her, she’s right most of the time.
At least related to questions for W2K… ;D 8)

I do believe her - most of the time. This time she acknowledged my comment. Don’t be too jealous, Asyn…

I try… :-\ ;D 8)

Avast 6 does not run on Windows 2000 platform any longer since last update. Warning “FindActCtxSectionStringW” cannot find kernel. Has anybody a solution?[/b][/b]
