avast 5.0 license key problem

I have a problem with the license key file that I d/l. It is not recognized as a valid file by avast. I submitted a trouble ticket and they give me the instructions to install the license key… they wont address the problem.

Anyone else have this issue?

avast 5.0 pro
Windows XP SP3
license file contains:

There are two lines at the bottom that I did not include, they start with ASWSIGN and a string of alphanumeric characters.

Help, please.

From where did you download the license key?
What version of Avast are you attempting to activate?

grainger, the file is not legit… the names of the customer, for instance, are empty…

It is highly likely that these were removed by grainger not wishing to display them in a public forum.

If so, it’s impossible to know what’s wrong. It’s useless to post the “empty” license file skeleton also…
