Avast 5.1.889 free doesn't detect a virus!

First of all I wanted to say that I use avast and I recommend it to everyone (including the PRO version I bought for my company).
I also know that all anti-virus do not detect 100% of the virus.
The other day on a PC with avast 5.1.889 free (database 110128-2) and winxp pro sp3 did not detect the virus described in this website:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-avg-antivirus-2011#keys

I have now removed by MBAM.
I just wanted to know if it has already been included in the new updates.
Thank you very much

ps
I’ve also did a boot scan with elevated sensibility

I just wanted to know if it has already been included in the new updates.
It will be if somone is uploading a sample.....and there are new versions of these every day

Fake antivirus overwhelming scanners

They will need a sample of the file/s.
Unfortunately you can’t do that with it in the MBAM Quarantine, you would have to temporarily restore (just the file not the registry keys, etc.) and manually add them to the avast chest or email a copy, then run MBAM again and have it remove it again.

There is obviously a limited risk in moving a file back to the original location, but without the associated registry keys and taking care not to execute them, that is a limited risk. That choice has to be your though.

Send the sample to virus (at) avast (dot) com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a link to this topic might help and undetected malware in the subject.
Or
Send the sample/s to avast as a Undetected Malware:
Open the chest and right click in the Chest and select Add, navigate to where you have the sample and add it to the chest (see image). Once in the chest, right click on the file and select 'Submit to virus lab...' complete the form and submit, the file will be uploaded during the next update.

You’re right, unfortunately I have not sent the file to avast!
It is probably a new virus…

Have you still got a copy in the MBAM quarantine ?

No unfortunately there aren’t because I deleted the infected files manually, after that I run a registry cleaner with MBAM …
What I cancelled manually, and the keys of registry cleaned by MBAM are into the link that I’ve posted at the beginnig.

Thank again everyone for your explanation

You’re welcome.
