Avast 5.1 UnResolved Issues

Hi All

Just wanna verify that these issues will be solved, and fixed

High cpu use from Avastsvc, requiring work around of rootkit scan at startup turned off, and USB devices safe removal not working, wondering since beta of Avast 6 is out if these issues will be fixed in 5.1.889 or future build via program update

Been using Avast since 2006, on all our household PC’s, so definitely will continue using Avast. Though one of the PC’s only has 1gb of ram, so i hope the next version runs well on that PC also.

unfortunately i think 5.1.899 will be the last update to 5.1 since they are busy concentrating on getting 6.0 released.

I rather doubt that as there is a program update for 5.1 in progress to address some of the issues reported here, that should be in a couple of weeks.

The version 6 beta shouldn’t prevent that happening, I also think the version 6 beta is likely to be more prolonged than previous beta releases.

Actually the 6-th avast version is the update for the 5.1.889, you should not get it as a new av. as it uses the same engine,gui and most likely all those problems reported in 5.1 will be solved then the 6 is out of beta.

And there is already one problem resolved that was persisting in the 5.1 (not for me but for a friend), the WOW crashes, he is playing constantly WOW and with the 5.1.889 his game will crash constantly(Behavior Shield related), i told him to try the new beta and now all seems to run smoothly .
