I have upgraded from Avast 4.8 to avast 5 on windows 7 x64 and am experiencing slower startup of applications. If i disable the file system shield applications start up very fast (as they normally do).
This is becoming really frustrating for applications like Chrome and Internet Explorer 8 since each tab is essentially a different process and where as before a new chrome tab would take less than a second to open now it takes around 5seconds.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
