(Avast! 5 Build 377) (False Positive) Comcast Chill Ricochet Infinity

I am trying to install Comcast Chill Ricochet Infinity but Avast 5! is reporting what I think is a False Positive!

I have had this game installer for a few years now and Avast 4 never complained about it.

Here is a link to the file http://rapidshare.com/files/339886402/Comcast_Chill_Ricochet_Infinity_Setup.exe.html

Did you not check out what I suggested when you first posted this in the beta forum ?

Yes I moved it here.

How do I report this to Avast?

I clicked on Submit to virus lab but nothing is happening.

The file is in the Virus Chest but I can’t figure out how to send it to Avast.

Here are the results from the test at virustotal.com

What about uplaoding to virustotal that I suggested.
What about scanning it again and using the Report as false positive link on the window.

I did

The results are above.

And like I said reporting it to Avast does not seem to be working.

Avast said will it send the reports on the next update but Avast has updated a few times already and the file is still sitting i the virus chest!

Well interestingly avast doesn’t detect this in VT and the signature updates are up to date, though VT is still using 4.8 not 5.o, so I don’t know if that may be why. A special build has to be done for them to work with how they need to run it.

It will still sit in the chest a copy is sent, what would happen if it were deleted and then it was found to be an FP; you would be up the creek without a paddle and screaming blue murder avast has deleted my file.

Periodically scan the file from inside Chest, after VPS updates, when it is no longer detected you can restore the file/ to their original location/s.

thanks for your help

You’re welcome.

False positive alert will be fixed in next VPS 100126-0
