Avast! 5 date format

Anyone know how to get Avast! 5 to display country-appropriate dates? Can’t seem to find the option anywhere. Mine insists in using m/dd/yyyy format on an Australian-configured (or UK or any non-US country) Windows 7 x64 PC.

(Apologies if this has been answered in this forum before. Searching on ‘date’ gives me any posting with the word ‘update’ in it, all 27 squillion of them.)

Where are you seeing such a date?
Can you post a screenshot of it?

can it be this? on the front
Expiration date: 10.01.2011 17:51:00

I can’t recall if there is such a setting in avast, I thought it took its date formatting from windows. It is working fine for me, see image.

Embarrassment: I uninstalled Avast! 4 and installed Avast 5! today. Because of the uninstall, I didn’t expect (brain didn’t engage) about the potential of Avast’s carrying over v4 information into my v5 setup. Unfortunately I too quickly assumed the 1/09/2010 I saw in the registration screen related to January 9, 2010 rather than 1st of September 2010. I got it wrong. Avast! is right. Avast! wins. I’m an embarrassed goose.

Sorry if not much of this made any sense, except the “brain didn’t engage part”, natch.

I’d issue an /embarrassment tag here, but I’m still embarrassed by my mistake. Hope I’ll get over it one day soon.

EDIT: Sorry about extraneous attachments—can’t seem to delete them.

mod: Removed duplicated attachments (it is in ‘Additional Options…’ when modifying your post).

KilgoreTrout, never mind, glad you’ve sorted it out.

These things happen when making a jump to a version that is so much different to the previous one.

Now you can have a root around the rest of the nooks and crannies of avast 5 ;D
