Avast 5 / Firewall Packet Rule Config

Hi Guys,

Quick question, I am trying to allow a RDP connection through the firewall, I am doing this through use of the packet rule filter as I am happy with this sort of config. To my horror I noticed that the inbuilt set of rules are all set to Action “Allow” Protocol “All” Direction “In/Out”?? When I enter my rule, Action = allow, Direction = IN Protocol = TCP Local port 3389 and click ok it defaults to the first section of rules as posted.

I Enclose a screen shot showing how it appears after I click ok - I must be right in thinking this is not right… Thank god I have a sold perimeter firewall

Look at Additional Options… then Attach:

In another thread, Lukas (avast Firewall developer) had informed us that the packet rules are fine. It’s just that there is a bug in the GUI. (meaning that the rules themselves are good and intact, but the dialog does not show it correctly)

I am afraid I must here confirm the bug on the dialog - it will display ALLOW again when the dialog is reopen, even when the rule is correctly set to block. This is a new present from the GUI team introduced with the latest program update. Its just the presentation layer (I mean, the rules are ok, just the dialog does not show it correctly) but I understand that does not makes much difference to you, guys. Sorry.
