Avast 5 Free Registration after Trial Period

Something kind of bizarre happened on a computer I’m trying to have avast 5 Free Home Edition run on. The 30-day trial period ended ended about a week ago, and I requested the registration key to arrive at one e-mail address. Within two days no e-mail arrived, so I requested a license/registration key a second time for the Free edition. Now that I have it, when I go through the steps and click on the box where you are supposed to paste your registration key, the window that opens is an attachment window, the same kind that would open if you are trying to attach a file to an e-mail. I am positive that no license key has been entered in by me.

Secondly, avast says that the program is registered! And the registration date and time is the exact time and date as the program’s trial period ended. I can assure that no one has entered a registration key.

What should I make of this? Can Avast be fully functioning if something like this happens? Is this a bug? Is this the result of waiting too long to enter a license key? What are your suggestions?

Thank you for your time! And I apologize if I made a mistake of posting it in a wrong spot.

Can you post a screen shot of this information ?

Sorry if this gets posted twice.

I might just be overly cautious. I just want to make sure I’m not using a faulty version of the program

It is registered until 7/9/2011 just under a year to run, so you don’t have to enter any license file, which is for the avast Pro or Avast Internet Security as the image states “Insert avast Pro / Internet Security License file” nothing about the free version.

For the free version you don’t have to do anything else for almost a year when 14 days before expiry you will get a reminder to re-register.
