Avast 5 Installation - NOT good!

Been running a healthy Avast Pro 4.8 on XP Pro SP3 and running perfectly. :slight_smile: Downloaded 5, uninstalled 4.8, rebooted and then installed 5. First, 4.8 License Key is no good. :frowning: No way to fix it within the program. (I know there is a link to get updated. It leads to a password protected dead end.) Then, the installation froze. >:( I waited nearly 4 minutes before having to Power down via power switch. Booted up ok and said it was installed and ok but don’t trust it after having to kill it so hard. :-X

I knew I should have waited for a few weeks but thought I would get along ok. ::slight_smile: Didn’t happen! :cry:

As I could not find a version 4 Pro download link, I went back to a different AV for now. When is the next build coming out? How do I get a valid license key for 5 when the version 4 one is worthless?

Thanks for the reply! I found the 4.8 Pro installer and reverted back from the other AV. And all is well once again! I’m going to sit tight for a while before I try this again. Haven’t dealt with that hard of a freeze up in a very, very long time (and never on this PC.)
