Mr.Agent

avast 4 is already fully supported at Windows 7.
avast 5 will be also.

For those who have already installed on the PC version 4.8, with the appearance of version 5, the transition from version 4.8 to version 5 will be done through a simple update on the program, or will have to be uninstalled version 4.8 ? Thanks!

It will be a reinstall I believe because it is a major change in avast from the 4.x version.

Say you.
Why it is then not listed here:

Windows 7 is not in its final stage yet. Many changes are still to come. No permanent system requirements would be posted yet.

Somehow, CNET already mentioned it’s Win7 compatibilty. CNET-avast!

Hm. Windows 7 just got its RTM -stage

RTM is not the final stage yet. [ul=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle]Life Cycle of a Software[/url]

The public could not get a hold of Win7 final yet.

Is it reasonable to assume that the Pro v 4.8 license will work with V 5? I hope I don’t have to buy a new license, but like others I am really looking forward to it.

Thanks,
Jerry

Yes it will, it is valid for the entire period regardless of a new version being released in that time frame (unlike some other companies :P).

Thanks, David.
I find more and more reasons all the time to like Avast. Yes some others are not so generous.
Avast has always been my fallback AV and a good one. But it keeps getting better and better.

Best regards,
Jerry

You’re welcome.

When can we download v5 beta?
