Avast 5: License Key Not Entered

Avast launches a dialog box that states “License Key Not Entered” with an OK button. Yet when I right-click the icon in the system tray and select “Registration Information” my current status is Registered.

So Avast has a complaint but won’t let me enter a key to fix it. What do I do?

When did you install avast!?
When did it start to pop up?
Have you tried restarting the system?
