Just installed Avast 5.0.462 on my desktop. WinXP SP2 32bit after a positive experience with it on my laptop. When I go to the scan computer/scan now menu there are no scan buttons ! Everything is blank (see attached pic).
I installed .462 over 4.8
What gives?

Try repair and reboot
For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
I’ve noticed this as well. It happens right after installation only. Just reboot the system or log off and log in again and it should work fine then.
A reboot fixed it. Thanks for your help!
