I have avast! 5.0.377 and self-defense is enabled… but I can easily terminate avast! with task manager, is this normal??
I can’t terminate it with task manager. Where’s the self defense setting as I need to terminate for a sec lol
tsilo, what operating system do you use?
I use Windows xp sp3 x86 and oh yes, my system have Process Hacker installed in place Task Manager http://sourceforge.net/projects/processhacker/, so I terminated it with Process Hacker not Task Manager… is this because of it?
Now I tried to terminate it with Task Manager and self-defense worked… so we have result that Process hacker can terminate it.
I can see ProcessHacker has its own driver… so I guess it uses that to kill the process.
The thing is that once you allow an application to load its driver (i.e. to get into the kernel mode), the fight is lost - it can do anything, and you can’t really prevent it.
I just admitted that your comment was very useful man! thanks for this, I really appreciate that!!!
