I am using avast 5 in an xp pc. From startup to being able to use the pc is over 4 minutes,before it was only 1 min 5 sec. what can i do to speed this up?

try to manage your startup programs, a freeware like CCleaner may come handy to help 
I am spyware,adware,virus free.I only have 3 start up items.Comodo firewall, Avast,Java update.If I turn off avast I go back to only one minute.I have reinstalled several times,and tried a combination of turning shields on and off same thing.
Try un-installing Comodo.
I have no problem on my XP Pro system but I do not use Ad-Adware and what do you mean by spyware?
