How do I adjust the spam filter settings in A5?
Sensibility level, i.e., number of heuristic tests to be performed with the email.
Check Help Center when you have the avast interface in the spam filter to know more.
The default is medium.
Thanks for the prompt reply, but I don’t understand it! I am new to A5 and its interface. Could you walk me through it, as in Click > XXX > YYY > ZZZ?
Also, if A5 blocks an email as spam, were would I find the blocked email?
Left click the icon.
Choose Antispam folder at left.
You’ll see the options (also the expert ones). Help files have details.
Open up the avast! UI. Click on the Antispam & Blockers tab. Adjust the sensitivity level from there. avast! Antispam will move marked spam messages into the “Junk E-Mail” folder in Outlook. If there is none, avast! will create a new folder called “avast! Junk” and move blocked mail there. The name can be changed in the Expert Settings. If you have an email client other than Outlook, you’ll have to create a rule for that by yourself.
I left clicked on the icon which open the Avast 5 screen but I don’t see the Antispam folder nor the Antispam & Blockers tab.
follow the tech instruction n check again…avast GUI is very friendly…you can find it easily
when you open the program, look on the left side there is a button > ANTISPAM & BLOCKERS ( no spam filter in avast! pro or free )
but I don't see the Antispam folderThat will be in your mail client......if you use Outlook
i use Outlook express so no spam folder there ( i can make one ) so what i have done is using rules, all mails marked by avast! with *** SPAM *** will be moved to " Deleted items folder " and it is working. all the Viagra / Cialis / Penis enlargment mails is gone ;D
There is no such settings in Avast 5 Free nor in Pro. It appears that Skip H is using one of these 2 versions.
The rest of you are using AIS which does have the settings.
