Avast 6.0 Free (Final) script-shield automatically blocks facebook!!!

Started using Avast 5.0 free-version in December last year and have since updated to version 6.0.100 final. I enjoy the product very much and as a student it’s great to find a free solution that is so polished. I’m using Windows 7 SP1 (32-Bit) on an HP Laptop.

My only “gripe” is that the script-blocking capabilities of the real-time shields prevented me from loading facebook and all I could see were the menus at the top of the screen! ie. with script protection on, some of my favorite web-pages were being blocked… turn it off and the pages show up OK!

My questions are, is it safe enough to leave script-shield off, especially if I also use antispyware software like SUPERAntiSpyware PRO? Will there be a way to exempt some sites in future?

One of my systems are win 7 32 bit and iv got no trouble with facebook and avast 6.0.1000, you can have scrip shield disabled if you wish but there must be some other reason as to why you cant load facebook correctly.

Thanks for the quick reply Craig… it happened after I installed Win7 Service Pack 1. But the only solution that works, so far, is to stop monitoring scripts in Avast 6.0 - then pages like facebook load correctly!

I went through each shield without success, until I deactivated script-shield, then I could see everything again.
