Okay, the free subscription suddenly ran out without warning (on my old computer it lasted waaay longer than this so i was all confused??), I registered, got my free license, but now I don’t know where the hell to put it. I’m just a little baffled as to why the email directs me how to put the license in the 4.8 or 5.0 versions but not the 6.0 version which looks slightly different.

I have several options; if I go to the “subsciption” page, not the “Registration” page (because the name has changed apparently) i find these:

Renew now → Gives me the option to pay $69 to upgrade, or “hey i already have a license”. Of course I’m going to pick the second option.

Insert license file → Err, select a file from the computer when the license was sent via email?? Not going to work

Insert activation code → Seemed the most logical, but hey, the license key won’t fit into the fields, so no.

Request conversion to 6.0 → Oh, this might do it, but no not that either because now my free subscription doesn’t exist and the system is like ftwww.

Yeah, so a little miffed (lol most likely frustrated at myself for not figuring it out) but if you can please help me asap it will really be appreciated (and i will like, chill because my computer will have protection again)…

Click on Maintenance, than Registration for online registering.

  1. Open Avast.
  2. Click on “Maintenance” then “Registration”.
  3. Fill out the form for your license key and click “Submit”.

Inserting the license key into: avast! Free Antivirus, avast! Pro Antivirus and avast! Internet Security.

There is no “Registration” part under Maintenance. Maybe it changes to Subscription after the trial expires?

Please, upload (attach) the avast log:
C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\Setup.log
or C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log

If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.

I guess this is what you mean? I re-saved and renamed it in my documents and deleted all but what would fit into the attachment.
