avast 6 (installed today) won't let me register...

setting up a Windows 7 PC today…Avast (FREE) installed fine. trying to register: click “REGISTER NOW” a wait screen appears stating “retrieving information, please wait”…then nothing happens.

this was installed via Chrome (if that matters), but i did go back to IE and make that the default browser to see if that would help: it didn’t. i did not try the offline registration (but i will if all else fails)…

is anyone else seeing this problem? is there something simple i’m overlooking? is this a problem on Avast’s end (a few threads i’ve found on google about a similar problem in avast 5 suggested it being an Avast server problem)?

…yeah, that’s exactly what’s NOT working…

i’ve done Avast-Free installs on nearly a dozen computers and have never had this problem…

i read it five times prior to posting…

as stated in my first post, i hadn’t done the offline registration…(but i’m now currently awaiting my email…) i have a viable internet connection (i downloaded Avast via this connection as well), so the online registration should work…

i just hate the offline reg as it takes so long to get the email…

Solved the problem… after clearing the CMOS and installing W7, i never updated the date/time. fixed that, everything works…

…yeah…knew it had to be a stupid oversight…

I’ve had the same damn problems since Avast 6, I can register online on my vista pc, but windows 7 laptop will never register online. I have to insert key myself, I dunno why the hell Avast can’t get this fixed
