Avast! 6 Security TEST

Avast! 6 out of 100% result in detection of viruses!
Avast is antivirus Excellent

AV programs I’ve tested, but not out 100% as Avast

Avira - failed test
Panda Cloud - failed test
Eset Smart Security - failed test
Download PC Security Test :

http://www.pc-st.com/us/download.htm

Thats nice, but is there even any documentation on what that “test” does?

Test test security that:

  • Antivirus protection
  • Antispyware
  • Anti-Hacking

And testing detection engine will run in System32 a “virus” called EICAR.

No what I meant was documentation, as in, how exactly does this test work, what does it do, in detail. Anything like this should be on their site, and if it is, I can’t find it. And to me, that site is really bare, suspiciously so. Besides, if it is just an EICAR file, I can go get that from the source.

Finally, I just said …

I an wondering about the methodology. ???

This page is blocked by BitDefender TrafficLight…

And here is the virustotal result:
http://www.virustotal.com/url-scan/report.html?id=ce51fed0098276946cb6ceee8b6ae819-1313244928

Trap, fake result or good ?

I think the tests i trust are av-comparative. But dont mean that your tests are bad i can say if avast! did 100 % then thank to let us know.

I looked at the site … ::slight_smile: ::slight_smile:

Given the garbage links for Megaupload, pregnancy, home plumbing etc. and the fact that this “company” has no address yet is supposed to have been around since 2004 plus the site itself looks like it was made by a 9 year old and the screenshot of the “application” speaks volumes …

I cannot imagine anyone here with any common sense even downloading this .

Not shocked with these results at all.

Although, perhaps it is one way to “test” your security…like instead of sending a soldier to basic training, just throw him out on the field in live fire, see how he does. ;D

there is a july 2011 documentation abt the antivirus comparison at av-test.org
