Avast 6.something version does not update automatically

Hi,

I installed Avast 6.something version a few days back. It does not get updated on this computer. i have been using avast on my other computers and it works seamlessly. It gets updated from Control Panel Repair option but is not doing so automatically.

I am using windows 7 on my Toshiba core i5 laptop.

Any help would be appreciated.

What firewall are you using? Make sure it does not block connections to avast.

Try to reset the settings of avast

Settings-> Troubleshooting-> restore default settings-> reset

If this does not help, check the malwarebytes program computer for viruses.

Please try this

Settings-> Troubleshooting-> Updates-> make the settings for both
1)Engine and virus definition
2)Program updates

Automatic update

For update parameters : My computer is always connected to internet

Proxy settings: Direct connection (no proxy).

Then please don’t forget to click “ok” there
