Had Avast v.4 and 5 running without problems on my (Win XP Pro) PC and Laptop for a long time.
Experienced problems updating to version 6 on both computers so I’ve uninstalled the old version and downloaded and installed Version 6.
Laptop: No Problems
PC: All working except the Web Shield
The Web Shield is blocking access to the Internet. Email is working.
Tried the following:
- Comodo Firewall – Removed all Avast entries and allowed access again as Avast requested.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Avast 6.
- Uninstalled Avast in safe mode with the Avast uninstall utility and reinstalled again.
Unfortunately this hasn’t fixed the problem. I have now stopped the Web Shield and hope to find a fix or will try to reinstall Version 5.
Any help will be appreciated.
