Great news Vlk! Have just updated to AIS v7.0.1407 with the built-in program updater. First I thought the update went wrong, seems like it (the progress indicator) freezed and get stuck for a minute, but I just waited, and voila´ , the update worked just fine!
I’ve decided to format my laptop and install avast! 7 from clean. Looking forward to see some global success with the new features.
Congrats to entire avast! team for the (so far successful) launch of the 7th version!
still no way to update from the UI … guess the bug was in beta 3 updater (and not just in the RC installer package?) … downloading the file and will try to update, otherwise…>>> clean install.
What a mess. AIS
Tried to update from last beta to this via updater. Doesn’t work.
Downloaded full package - cannot read installation file.
Downloaded package again (exact same file size) Installed
System said license had expired - inserted license file - accepted
All shields disabled, cannot turn on. rebooted twice, still cant get “network shield” on
Second machine - same issues.
Win 7 / 64 all latest patches - drivers
Update - turned off all shields, rebooted twice. ran CC cleaner. Re-enabled shields. Rebooted. All seems well now.
Problem with installer not away…
“Error reading product data from … setup”
Have to uninstall, reinstall and make all settings manual like in rc1? What annoying…is there another trick to get this working without that?
Thx
I see that some people are having issues with updating to version 7.0.1407. I am using version 6.0.1367.0 of avast! Free Antivirus and my plan is for it to automatically let me know that there is an update.
OK, first update from file (not user interface in BETA - it was stuck in “Stage 1” for forever) gave me some errors and WebShield was broken after restart, but I did “Repair installation” and seems all broker parts now are fixed after restart.
I try to log in on a new install but the registration just hangs. im able to connect to my account and see the computer but the registration to get a key seems to have issue.
