Why does version 7 feels slower for some reason? Quick scan used to be faster using same settings. And also on-access seems a bit sluggish on some occasions. Were there any changes done to the caching mechanism? Or the scan engine or it’s heuristics (that would slow it down)?
Finally…downloading going to do a install over avast 6…
@RejZoR, it had nothing to do with v7. There was a bug in scan engine and it was already fixed in vps update for both v6 and v7.
Can i do the install over my installed avast 6?

I’ve just performed a quick scan and it took quite long compared to scan times from before. I’ll observe this further…
Btw, how do streaming updates affect cache mechanism now? I mean before the cached results were valid between updates. Now that streaming updates are received every few 10 minutes, are cached results still valid at all or just for this short duration?

The UI has had a slight update. Looks a little different now.
The support tool is a feature that collects log files etc together, allowing you to submit them to avast should theyy be requested when troubleshooting.
I like the color of the shield graphs now.
It would be a smart thing to move the BETA talk to the beta section where it belongs…

I would like to see control for modification of hosts file in avast!7 (popup:do you want modify of hosts file? “yes” or “no”) Do you like it?
Attempted install. Perfect on one computer but on second one got the attached messages.
Any ideas?
Just a thought, the “Quick scan / Running” mini UI that pops up when you minimize Avast! while doing a scan would be REALLY useful if it were moveable and not just able to be pinned. It would be nice to move it to my second monitor so I can monitor it while I do work on my first (main) monitor.
