Avast 7 + RipBot264 = scan all the time

I use RipBot264 forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=127611
Avast constantly scan the executable file RipBot264.exe and consumes a maximum of 10% CPU for scanning.
Is this normal behavior or do I have to add an exception for this program?
