Improve the behavior shield ( because i never have seen it work )
Integrate Easypass into Avast Internet Security , just like Norton has Identity Safe.
Maybe make a optional HIPS , which is off by default ( u can turn it on manually )
Solve the flash issues in the Avast sandbox , ( because if i watch youtube it asks me to download flash player while i already got it , or is that fixed yet ? )
Improve zero day protection
Integrate Cloud technology ( which is already going to be )
Make a option to run the browser with limited rights , instead of administrator rights ( together with the sandbox , because spyware can still spy while the sandboxed browser is active )
I know the behaviour shield is working , but i never seen it in action , for example on youtube video’s , they test the AV in a virtual computer , and lets Avast right click scan a pack of malware , and the remaining malware is executed , to see how Avast handles malware where it does not have a signature for , sometimes the autosandbox popped up , but i never saw the behavior shield actually popping up , in neither of the tests.
I know youtube tests are small , but isnt it weird i never see a popup from the behaviour shield from those video’s ?
And what do you mean u have AIS with ‘‘no’’ ‘‘administrator’’ ?
I ment its always a extra layer , if u can open the browser in a limited rights browser.
Yeah, the behavior shield’s functionality has long been in question. Just guessing that they keep it passive due to problems with potential FPs should they let it out unmuzzled. It still serves some weird purpose in “Avast!'s Plan”, but it seems more geared toward its automated submissions and auto-sandbox reactions than outright blocking.
I don’t know if you can use rights limitation-type things (like DropMyRights) past XP, as that is supposed to fall under UAC now.
Ah, I remember that now when I was looking to try OA. Might be an interesting tidbit for Avast! to try. It would not affect me too much as I use UAC and a limited user account for everyday use, but I can see the appeal to someone who is always admin.
