I have new suggestion for avast! 7 and later…

1.Auto USB Detect.
if usb have a autobot. It’s so warning!!
so Auto USB Detect is so important.

2.easy virus scan select
(please see the attach picture.)
I think checking scan forder → scan
it’s so simple and easy.

avast! is on-access and it automatically scans any media attached to the computer.

2.easy virus scan select (please see the attach picture.) I think checking scan forder --> scan it's so simple and easy.

You may right-click a folder and click Scan from Windows Explorer.
