I just updated my Avast! software to version 8.0.1482 on my computer (Windows Vista 32 bits)
My computer is protected by default windows vista firewall but avast! is registered as allowed program.
Windows Vista is updated.
But now Avast! doesn’t work any more.
When I try to update viral database, it says something like “update failure, Avast! service is not activated” (en français : “Echec de mise à jour, le service avast! n’est pas activé”)
I tried this method without success
" 1. Download avast! Free Anti virus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot. "
Each time I try to activate manually avast! service, it is down 1 minute later…
Please help !
