Avast 8 compatibility with Windows 8.1

there seem to be a compatibility problem with Windows 8.1

Any info on that?

The question is what version of win8.1 you are using ?

Because early public trial of 8.1 and also RC versions still had the AVs allowed (compatibility) locked down, even though avast 8.0.1497 is compatible, as it the avast 2014 RC2 (beta) version.

I am using the version from TechNet, which is the official version and the one release to manufacturer.

Then both of the versions mentioned should be compatible.

So what is the compatibility problem ?

When I start my computer I get a message from Windows that says the program is not compatible.

Yes that looks like avast hasn’t been added to the list of compatible AVs as yet but both of the builds that I mentioned previously are compatible and you can ignore the message.

It IS still INCOMPATIBLE! Costing “Task Host” notice with restarting!!! Avast is HANGING in background slowing restart. Instead of “…could be compatible…” excuse, fix this problem.

Fully compatible with my windows 8.1 64bit, if you could explain what the problem is we may be able to help

You’re posting a lot of complains that, after all, does not fit the reality. As asked, post more info about your problem and system in order to get help.
