avast 8 does not show me the sounds like (avast has been updated)

hai i am using avast 8 free version on my windows 8 32 bit but avast does not show me any sound like( virus signature has been updated) and so on

is this a part of the new avast 8 or it is a bug problem? i did not change any settings from avast and i saw that every thing is fine on the setting.

so what to do with this problem?
and today when i installed avast after install finished avast showed me that avast did not install correctly but after that avast did a start up scan and then on the task bar it show me that your system is secure.
so what is the main problem with this. i did a custom install during install i did not change anything.

so please any one help me how can i solve the avast 8 free sound problem? :-\

Are you getting any other avast sounds ?

Do you happen to have avast set in Gaming/Silent mode ?
avastUI > Settings > Silent/Gaming Mode, see image, click to expand.

If not check the avastUI > Settings > Sounds, see image2

Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and select Repair, click next and follow.

Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Uninstall/Change and select Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair.

i repaired avast but every thing is same.

Please post the version number:
Right Click on the avast icon in the system tray > select About avast! and post the program version number

Try totally shutting down your system, wait 30 seconds then reboot the system.
Make sure the rest of your sound system is working. Can you pay any sounds or music ???

i can play the any music any video and my windows 8 start up and shut down sound is off by default.

guys i don’t think this problem will be solved, i think it is a bug in avast 8 latest version 8.0.1489 on windows 8.

Oh great…being impatient and then talking bad about a great antivirus program is absolutely what I call 'Noob" >:( ::slight_smile:

There are so many people who get help here…why are you so mad bro!? There is no bug or anything avast works fine for all my clients and plus you wont get such a great free antivirus :slight_smile:

Anyways,if that is your attitude towards AV program then I guess you will not be using any antivirus on your PC for more than a month :stuck_out_tongue:

Why do you a AV program if you cant be patient to get problems solved? ???

I had same problem ie no sound anyway checked sounds was ticked in settings and tried the repair option and that did not work so I uninstalled Avast 8 free and downloaded it from the link here in the forums(the first time I got it from the CNET download link) anyway soon as it installed had Avast sound update notifications etc… on my Win8 so all fixed and sorted :slight_smile: .
