[avast! 8] Silent Installation Switches (agents, components, miscellaneous ...)

Hello everyone 8),

I would like to know the different switches to perform silent installations with the .exe installer of avast! 8 Pro Antivirus (is there an .msi installer?).

My goal is to achieve a silent installation choosing :

  • components
  • shields
  • and insert at the same time my license file

I’ve tried to do a silent installation by helping me to this support page for version 7, but it does not work : https://support3.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1240

My test with a simple .bat file :

avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe /silent /nodesktopicon /nosounds /noreboot /progress

Not everyone viewing knows or understands this stuff, so number of views is not an indication of unwillingness to help here. We do have some sharp tacks among us, so be please be patient. Sure someone will come along.

You’re right.

I just thought that such requests would find an answer quickly. I hope that people like me who want to make deployment of large IT parks do not play to perform manual installations PC by PC.

So here we are, I suspected as much, so have to pay to manage my IT infrastructure >:(.

So avast! philosophy is : I install everything, even if I do not need. Then once this little world is installed, I have to go through the famous manager to manage all my park. The solution is cool to the paper 8), but financially we do not have the means … :-\

There is there not a way to choose when installing : components, shield and especially to allow the automatic insertion of the license :-[?

I’m pretty sure this is possible. Other app offers this functioning why avast! would not be able?

Waiting for another solution that would be more to my expectations. But thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to look at my topic :).

You shouldn’t even install it… avast! Pro is not intended to a professional network, I mean, with the size of yours.
How many licenses of avast! Pro did you buy?

I do not know exactly how many licenses have been purchased. But certainly enough to cover my entire park (has about 45 machines). I do not manage this point of my park. Definitely a bad choice on the part of my superiors …

Can you offer me an in-between between fully install avast!, eyes closed, on all the machines and let the magic act and buy a more advanced product avast! ?

So here it is : $989.55 for one year.

I think we will return to a classic and simple Microsoft Security Essential. Everything will be easier.
