Avast! 8 Uninstall Utility

Hi all. Just now i installed the new Avast! 8 (final version). Is there a uninstall utility for it? Can you provide me the link? Thanks.

Use http://files.avast.com/test5beta/aswclear.exe in safe mode. The one on the main website hasn’t been updated yet.

Oh sweet! When will the main website be updated? Any ideas?

How soon? i.e. within an hour, today, tomorrow, etc.

I registered but then it didn’t respond for like 2 minutes? clicked on the avast icon and then it said setup finished. After that I saw 2 icons on the bottom right hand corner? When it got frozen i was nervous, should have waited? After that i uninstalled it? Now waiting for the avast! 8 uninstall utility!

The one I linked you in the new one. That is the one that will be on the main website. When using it remember to uninstall all previous versions too such as 7.0 etc.

Oh sweet thanks. I just now used it? One last thing about the Ad-blocker? In the free version i saw that Ad-Blocker is not installed in the free version? Should I have to install it manually?

It is included in the free version. Settings>Browser Integration>Install Adblock (Choose the browser)

  1. Thanks installed Ad-blocker on all 3 browser. Chrome, IE10, and Firefox.
    For IE10 I don’t see the Ad-Blocker sign only see it in Chrome and Firefox.

  2. Just for one clarification. 1st i had avast7 uninstalled it via add/remove, used avast! 7 uninstall utility and selected avast! 7 in safe mode. Installed avast!8 had a few minute heckup (not responding in 2 mins, got 2 icons in the bottom right hand corner), uninstalled avast!8 via add/remove, and i used the uninstall utility that you gave me in this link, ran that in safe mode and selected avast!8 of that uninstall utility, and finally reinstalled avast! 8.
    So is that how it should be done?

  3. Just for a matter of interest. I have a desktop computer with Windows 7 (64-bit) SP1 with AVG Free installed? If i want to install avast! 8 Free. I should 1st use the add/remove and then use the AVG removal tool. Should i use the AVG removal Tool in normal mode or in safe mode?

  1. There is no sign in IE10 but it works fine.

  2. Yes, you did it correct. Is the problem still there?

3.Remove it via add/remove programs, reboot in safe mode and then use the removal tool.

  1. Oh okay, i thought there is a bug or a problem? So i reported it to feedback.avast.com lol oh well it’s benefit of the doubt!

  2. Thanks no there is no problem? Everything works fine. When i reinstalled avast! 8 there wasn’t a pop-up voice activate saying avast has been updated? I know avast!8 installs the new vp while installation. In avast! 7 when installation finishes, there’s always a pop-up voice activated message saying avast has been updated after the vp has updated? Why it didn’t happen in avast! 8?

Don’t worry. It’s all good? Did another 2nd time reinstallation. Everything is perfect except for one which i don’t do it again http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=116335.0
