You can configure proxy settings in Internet Explorer.
These settings affect many network connections in Windows, not even related to Internet Explorer.

I tried your suggestion L3 but it is still the same.
I get no connection.

Hello,

I hope there is a way to use proxy in accessing the internet using avast software.
Thanks.

You are not clear on what the problem is.
Perhaps you should ask in a language that you master better than English:

If you want to to use the internet using a proxy server,
all you have to do is set it up in your internet connection settings.

Hello Eddy,

Sorry for my bad english. I checked the link for my country Philippines but it is not listed. We use Tagalog.

I will try to rephrase my question.

Is there a way to directly register avast software using proxy server?

I tried configuring internet option with our proxy setting but only the internet explorer has an access to the internet. I cannot register avast using register button.

I am hoping my english is now ok.

Getting a license (either free or a paid one) for avast has nothing to do with a proxy server.
You really are not making any sense at all.
Just get the license and “insert” it to your installation/version of avast.
That is all…

Thanks for your reply but you are pertaining to the offline registration. I was pertaining to the online registration of avast in the program itself. Not via browser or email. If you checked my last attachment you will see that the internet explorer is connected to the internet but when I click register on avast I see the error shown in the photo.

Is there a way to access “My Devices” using a proxy server?
Using Internet explorer option does not work.

By default, Avast uses your browser’s settings to access the internet.
If you can use your browser to access the internet, then you should also be able to register Avast
through the User Interface.
Did you make any changes to the settings in Avast ???

Hi bob,

Thanks for the reply. I seems I know now why am I getting the error when I access “My Devices” even the internet explorer proxy is set-up.
Our proxy is setup to require username and password every time the browser access the internet. I decided to removed that feature username and password now the “My Device” simple worked. I can now register the AVAST client using that method.

My question is…

  1. Why is the client is not using the proxy setting that was set-up in the settings/update page. Why is it only dedicated for downloading of updates only.
  2. Why is the “my Devices” page do not pop-up and requiring username and password when this feature is setup on the proxy server.

I am using squid proxy by the way.

Thanks.

Can you add exclusions to Squid proxy so that a password isn’t required for the connections avast needs to do it’s updates ???

maybe I can but the problem is I do not know the URL name.
