Hey everyone,

Just thought I’d mention I put an avast! banner on a website I’ve been working on (www.zigs-stuff.org). Just wondering, are there any larger banners available advertising avast! home or pro?

I can’t find the banner in Firefox?
Isn’t Ad-Block Plus (on Firefox) blocking it?
Opera shows it…

Can’t see it in Firefox or IE7.
It’s visible in Opera.
I thought avast! professional protects more than just your desktop ???
On my system, the home version is protecting the whole computer. :slight_smile:

Yes, adblock users will have to disable adblock to see the banners on the site.

Where is this banner, I don’t see it either I have Ziggs-stuff.org, but I always block googlesyndication.com and google-analytics.com

Its not just the banners that won’t be displayed but the effects on the site also.

For me I don’t use NoScript to block ads, but scripts. I use AdBlockPlus to block ads.

Nope I don’t think it will, which is why I have not asked users to disable it, we display ads and if users do not wish to see ads then they can use adblock or some other extension. Although users with adblock enabled do lose some of the banner effects the site has or will have (not all will be ads), but that is a compromise they are willing to make, and I have no problem with that :wink:

No no, you don’t understand the banner changes after a certain amount of time, the avast! banner is there but you may need to refresh the page a few times before it switches the banner to avast!

P.S. Just received an e-mail from an Alwil staff member, Martin Novak who gave me a new banner to display, I have switched the banners and it is now displaying the new one.

I can see the Avast ad-banner from Opera no problems.

Well I have put this banner up because I wanted to, Alwil is not paying me and I am not asking them to, the banner will stay up there for a long time (it is set for an unlimited amount of impressions), hopefully spreading the word :slight_smile:

The same banner is currently displayed e.g. on the Virus Bulletin site (www.virusbtn.com).
It may be necessary to refresh the site a couple of times as (I think) they rotate the banners…
