Hi everyone
I have two desktops, which (software wise) are virtually identical.
When a scan is done on one of the two - I get a report that quite simply reports no problems (or otherwise if such is the case)
The same scan on the other PC always throws up “certain files could not be scanned” - further information reports - error: Archive is password protected (42056)
It seems that these entries relate to adobe application?
I realize that this may be an old chestnut - but could not find references to it via the search facility. I know that 100’s of people have had this problem, but Google searches have not yet given me a straight and simple answer.
Your thoughts appreciated
Cheers
CJ
Several topics were already started about this. Apparently, adobe started to add some pasword protection (or similar method) to some archives / files. Avast has no way to know such pasword, so they can be scanned deeper. It is just information avast provides / logs / report, and not necessarily some malware or security breach.
Most probably you will find it in the system Volume Information folders, at least in part, which is the System Restore folder. Updating Adobe software would probably trigger more of these issues, but nothing to be worried about.
I appreciate your reply, but I still cannot understand I get two different outcomes from 2 different computers (configuration and update situation identical)
Cheers
