Avast advised deletion causing big problems

I received an Avast pop up advising removal of an add-on. After following the advice I have had major problems, for example I get a request on start up for TrayApp. I have followed advice on the net about dealing with it but had no luck. Also I have lost GoggleEarth. It starts up but any attempt to get farther than the opening screen crashes it. I have ‘system restored’ twice to a dates well before I allowed Avast to delete the add on but without improvement. This is about the limit of my computer ability. I am still on Vista.

I would be grateful for any suggestions please.

I’m sorry to hear of your problems. Could you please refer to this link and follow the directions: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 and ATTACH the following logs:

  • MBAM
  • Farbar Recovery Scan
  • aswMBR.exe

After posting, please do not make any changes or attempt to “fix” anything on your machine. One of the Malware Removal Specialist will look at your logs and give you further instructions. They come on the forum at different hours, so please be patient. Thank you.
