Hi All,
I have ver7 on at the moment, the last 2or3 times i’ve tryed to put ver8 on everything has frozen. looking at the various postings there seems to be a certain amount of people for and against ver8 . Forum member Essexboy has given me good advice on doing a clean install which i am go’ing to try, but before i start could i have the answer to this. If i go into prog files and send ver7 to a disc can i use the said disc to reinstall ver7 if the new install ver8 fails or i don’t like ver8 ? I would not be able to retrieve ver7 from Avast i’ve been told, Also if a person stays with ver7 how long will Avast support it with updates etc
John
Really, v8 is working in millions of computers… Walking back won’t help… Let’s troubleshoot and move ahead
The answer to your question is NO.
Saving the setup file for the last version 7 would allow a clean re-install. Saving the folder in Prog. Files only gives you a fraction of the program and would not work.
I’d suggest a clean install of version 8. The following may be of help to you:
