Avast alerts appearing, scans show no results

Hi, Avast Antivirus 5.0 shows the attached image every 5 minutes or so. Scans on avast and anti-malware don’t show any infected files and TFC did not work. Please help me out, i’ve looked around and i can’t seem to fix this. I’m running windows XP and have only ever used Avast

Not expert on OTS but this seems to be weird:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE: Main\“Start Page” → http://www.bigseekpro.com/tempcleaner/{473CDA8C-F7EA-4666-9848-B35F99606330}

Quick search on the internet showed http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/bigseekpro.com

I think that might be something that got installed when I downloaded TFC.
Seems like i only made my problem worse

LOLz. I can’t download the OTS.txt, blocked by Avast. ;D

I just clicked on it myself, i got blocked as well.
should i try rescanning?

Don’t see how would rescanning help with this issue?

Avast alerts but it’s not malware.
Are u sure you downloaded this one http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/ ?

yeah, it was oldtimer’s tfc but i’m not sure if it was on the same mirror.
i uninstalled the old one before scanning with OTS and antimalware and re cleaned with that one and the alert is still there

Download and install CCleaner from here http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Run both the registry scan and the scan for cookies etc.

That’s obviously the problem, isn’t it? No idea why it blocks the log download either. Messing with cookies cleaner won’t help.

yeah just tried ccleaner and that didn’t work

;D

VirusTotal - OTS[1].Txt - 3/43

ccleaner also cleans temp files.

so is there anything i can do to fix my OTS file for you guys? sorry i’m not too experienced with this

Essexboy is notified, he will check this when he arrive

GData is using Avast! as well, so all that really counts like one. Needs a signatures fix, won’t waste time with cleaning temp files really.

Don’t want to look stubborn but surely if ~40 other AVs can handle this without producing FPs, so can avast!, can’t it?

It is just Avast being overly cautious - some elements appear as an autorun

Start OTS. Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the panel where it says “Paste fix here” and then click the Run Fix button.

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here

I will review the information when it comes back in.

THEN

Download aswMBR.exe ( 511KB ) to your desktop.

Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it
