Can somebody tell me the path for the file for the main avast! interface? They were on my desktop and then they weren’t. They are not in the recycling bin, and it hadn’t been emptied. I tried to search for it and nothing came up. Weird. If anyone knows why this is and the path for the avast! 4.8 interface, it would really help.
Are you currently on Windows XP? If so the desktop clean wizard is responsible for this. You can always go into Start\All Programs\Avast. Right click on the icon and send it to your desktop or copy it. Also Avast 4.8 is out dated so your better off installing the most current version.

Well the great thing about Windows 7 is that you don’t need any desktop icons. Thats what the superbar is for. You can pin everything to it. Please uninstall your 4.8 version of Avast and download the latest one. Thanks.

I have the professional version. Will I have to pay again? What happens to your virus chest when you uninstall avast?
No you wont have to pay again. Anything in your chest just empty. You should have your license key already stored somewhere. If not I am sure Avast can send it to you.
