Avast always starts with 2 shields disabled and it wont tell me which ones

This is a constant problem really, and ihave uninstalled and reinstalled Avast several times yet it still keeps coming up - basically when i turn on my computer 2 shields are always disabled, i have to manually switch them on - i want to know though which ones they are, is there any way i can ascertain this? I am guessing the behaviour shield is one of them but what the other one is i would like to know.

I would like to stay with Avast but these constant little niggling issues, make a return to Norton far more attractive

Post a screenshot of the problem. It will help to understand.

Is there an ! exclamation mark over the avast tray icon ?
If you right click on the avast tray icon and select About Avast > Components > is that showing any shields disabled ?

Return to Norton ?
Did you remove it completely before installing avast ? (did you use the removal tool for it?)

As a side note, I’m currently working with Avast to find the reason why the BehaviorShield needs to be stared manually each time I
start up my system. Currently no answer.

I have the same problem with the behavior shield. It started after the update to 17.4.2294 (build 17.4.3482.0) It´s not every time I start up my pc but 2 out of 3 upstarts that the behavior shield is not running. I seen several people with the same problem in this forum, is this a bug ? If so hopefully Avast solves this in the near future because it´s quite disturbing to have it this way. And because it gives me a warning that my pc is at risk doesn´t make me feel better.

cruiser, please start your own thread and provide details.

Why should I start a new thread about the same problem as for example bob3160 is having ? What more details do you need ? When I start my system the behavior shield is not on. I´m running windows 7 home premium with Avast pro antivirus. There are several different posts of this problem before, but this was the newest one so I thought it would be appropriate to post it here ! Sorry to upset you, but I thought this was a forum for help and answers.

You’re in the right place but there isn’t an answer for the problem. It’s still being investigated.

Thank you Bob for your polite answer ! Hopefully there will be an answer in the near future.

I’ll let you know as soon as I get one from Avast.

Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon as it’s extremely annoying.
