Avast is antivirus, not antispyware.
A program for Antispyware usually works OK with Avast; it’s friendly.
I use SpywareTerminator. Others use Windows Defender, or many of the other programs available free or paid. (Superantispyware, Asquared, SpywareDoctor etc.)
Only run one (1) of each in realtime.
Some programs can cause some slowdown, try first, see what works best.
Sorry for my basic English. I tried to keep it easy.

Yes, it is not a special anti-spyware software and only has limited anti-spyware capacity.
You can use AVG anti-spyware as its supplement.

IMO, the spyware that anti-virus software manufacturers mean is not the same word as anti-spyware software manufacturers.
Anti-virus software will remove some malicious spyware but ignore some modest ones.

Avast is an antivirus programme but it can detect some other malware (adware, spyware, etc). Malware is not Avast’s speciality.

It’s just like common citizens and police. If you saw a crime in progress, you won’t chase the criminal - you will call police. Avast see “a crime in progress” and asks you to “call police” - antispyware, antiadware, etc.

Although it’s not that bad. On contrary, avast antispyware capacities are very good.
