Avast and AVG reach 100% in the latest AV-Comparatives Real-World Test.

Remarks:

  1. We got 3 false positives.
  2. Kaspersky and Avira could not reach 100%.
  3. ESET and (hey US!) McAfee went down.
  4. Besides the good result, Microsoft will be in the middle between the best and the worst ones.

WD and Kaspersky at the same place, hahahahha :stuck_out_tongue:
Emsisoft last??
Panda 1st???
Crazy results. ;D

Good job…!! 8)

The false positves is what makes the difference to a perfect score ;D
I hope Eset and Emsisoft will improve, as i have them high.

Greetz, Red.

nice keep up the good job avast/avg team ;D

This is the second time recently. A trend is showing. Keep things up to at least this level or aim at perfect 100% each time…

I’m waiting for a 6 month average.

  1. Microsoft returned to the middle of the detection spectrum

Microsoft 99.7% I would say is an excellent result.

Hey Avast-fans,

any value near 100% is dubious for me …

The correct score is 99.4% which isn’t excellent.

Anything above 99% is excellent, Microsoft scored the same as Kaspersky except for the FP’s, both better than Eset.

Considering that Avast scored 99.7% in Feb. and was criticised for that score, I don’t consider 99.4% excellent.

Cant help others judging harshly at 99.7%, it’s just nit picking, as I said anything above 99% is excellent.

I try not to get excited about these things and go on the prior personal experience, e.g. no infections in almost 14 years of using avast.

That however, isn’t just down your AV you have installed, that is just one element. The users browsing habits also help in their protection, if all else fails ensure you have a robust backup and recovery strategy.

100% agree (see what I did there ;D) with user habits being a huge factor of staying infection free.

Multiple AV’s on multiple systems from Avast - MSE/Defender - Panda - Bitdefender - Kaspersky etc and virus free in over 10 years, AVG of old has been the only one that ever let something slip by for me and a system image quickly solved that problem

That’s the point -even with the best AV-protecion something can happen, and backup and recovery is more important than relaying on some software.

In most instances, it’s the software (Avast) that’s keeping you safe. The backup is there for the rare instance it’s bypassed.
(Hasn’t happened to me since 2003) I still do weekly image backups but in my case it’s mainly for protection with hardware failure.
(That’s happened a few times since 2003.)

Hi guys

I am not surprised, but I still think Avast default settings should be sharper, RejZoR sharp https://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-protection-tweaks

Greetz, Red.

You’re right. I did not write this fairly. Sorry.
