Avast! and azureus

my avast! p2p scanner doesn’t seem to scan azureus dowloads

i can’t see it in the list of p2p clients (while i see bitorrent)… is there a way to configure it ?

Use the Search button at the top of the page and look for Azureus as this has been asked and answered many times.

i did it ! , but still no answer or solution… :frowning:

cvsa, this link is as near an answer that you may find.

The problem with azureus is that there is not a process called something like azureus.exe that avast can monitor.

azureus is a java based application and so its controlling process is javaw.exe. The problem for the avast folks is that, as far as I know, they have not yet devised a way to say to avast:

  1. I need to monitor function “azureus” running under javaw.exe as a P2P program
  2. I need to monitor function “columba” running under javaw.exe as an email program
  3. I need to monitor function “IMclient” running under javaw.exe as an instant messaging program.

etc.

I am sure that this is an issue the avast folks are turning their clever minds to … but there is not a solution available just yet.

I hope this helps to answer your question … at least for now

Edit: before someone tells me that (2) is much easier to fix than (1) and (3) because there are more “standards” involved … I know … but I am just trying to illustrate a general point.
