I am fuming…!
I decided to re-install Avast because it gave me a BSOD on doing a boot boot scan! How come I ended up with Google Chrome for Gods sake - I didn’t ask for it nor do I want it - OK!
What is aggravating is that I used Express install as recommended, there was no option not to install this - no boxes to tick nothing… and no warning that it was being installed - WHY?
If this is the way Avast is going then I will not bother to renew my license subscription, in the mean time I will be looking for an alternative Anti Virus program so don’t be pestering me with offers.
If this is not sneaky or wheeler dealing what is? Thank God I keep a cloned drive handy.

Pondus that’s the best you can do… don’t bother mate!
I would if I had the time OK, I purchased Avast… not Google Chrome. Avast will be removed shortly - permanently.

then what is it you want me to do?
The option screen with the tick boxes only appears for approximately a second - thus one is unable to select the option… this download is from the Avast site itself.
Before anyone harps on about about custom instal, Google Chrome is NOT listed in it so that puts the lid on that.
I have un-installed using Avast uninstall tool, I’ve cleaned ALL Awil and Avast files, and cleared the registry, including the Google opt in/out entry that Avast had installed… yet you still just a quick flash of a screen presumably with the option box.
Perhaps if Avast slowed it down a little, just a little we just might have a chance of making that option. I ain’t no intention of hanging about until something is done.
And reading the other threads-:
Why hasn’t something been done, said or noted in the ‘sticky section’… looks like Avast don’t give a damn!
doesn’t it?
I’m off, had enough off Avast
