Avast and Gumblar Virus

I am trying to debug a hack that occurred on my website (ISP Hosted at InMotion) and determine whether my home network machines could be infected. The hack occurred somewhere between 9/17 and 9/18. They somehow managed to get my ftp password and change pages. My suspicion - and it is just that - is that this could be the Gumblar virus.

We have been running Latest Avast Home (4.8.1351 or maybe the prior update) on all our machines - especially my machine. I wanted to know:

If I was running this version of Avast, would it have detected the Gumblar virus if it tried to infect my machine(s)? I was reading an article

http://www.webologist.co.uk/2009/05/gumblar-virus-threat-to-the-internet-how-to-remove.html

which stated "Until a few days ago, the only anti-virus software to detect and cage the virus was Avast! "

I just want to confirm this information.

Thanks

That article is dated may 2009,

and there is a blog post by the ALWIL team just a month after:

http://blog.avast.com/2009/06/03/gumblarcn-summary/

So I would say that avast! should detect it, if it tried to infect your machine.
