Tipton, you are my kind of guy… I don’t mean like I LOVE YOU, hahaha ;D… I’m married and very happy, so any further offer will be rejected… ;D
OK, put a joke aside for the moment… All those programs you use, it tells us that you are very aware of all those problems and pests out there. I didn’t want to say that you don’t have a clue about spyware or adware, but I was just worried… I thought maybe you never heard of Alexa, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of. I am not the cleverest one either, so probably I miss some other nasty spyware files, so I like when someone keeps me updated… that way, aI’m up to date
Btw, I wanna hear your opinion about Acronis true image. I use Norton GHOST 'cause my company has contract with them. Before we replace some systems with brand new one, we always make backups of whole systems and keep them for next 6 months… just in case someone is missing something from their old system. I also use GHOST on my system. I make backups every second week, so I can always restore last stable point if something ugly happens… much better than that stupid Windows System Restore…
Ghost is actually really good for imaging, and I had used it exclusevely before switching to True Image. The reason I switched to TI, was because I was having problems with image restores using ghost after I set up my RAID 0 array. Turns out, that Symantec admits that ghost does not support RAID, however some have had no problems with it.
I e-mailed Acronis True Image and asked if they support RAID. They replied back that they do support RAID, and listed the RAID controllers supported. I am using the Intel ICH5R controller on my P4C800E-Deluxe mobo, which was on the list. I gave it a try and it worked flawlessly. You can even image within windows, without having to boot to some DOS screen. The GUI is very user friendly, and I was able to create and restore images without even reading the help pages. I highly recommend the product.
Yeah, there is clone option and it does it very well… and best of all, you can start it from Windows, then it will reboot your system and finish the job from DOS…
