avast! and NTFS ADS?

Now that with XP Service Pack 2 Microsoft makes broader use of a NTFS feature called Alternate Data Streams (ADS) there is the potential risk that virus writers might soon exploit this.

So my question is: Is avast! ADS-aware?

Pro version is (On-Access). Home Edition is only for On-Demand. And NTFS additional data streams were used before SP2 too…

…and avast scans files with ntfs streams; there’re already some viruses which use these streams.

Comforting to know avast already protects against a possible exploit on nt based systems now that sp2 has brought the possible exploit back into the press again.

Thanks avast.

Just hope the script kiddies don’t read the news!
