Avast and Outlook/Exchange scan

I have Avast Home on my tablet PC and it shows items being scanned on my Outlook Inbox (connected to an Exchange Server).

On my desktop, connected to the same server, there’s no items being scanned, even though the providers is started.

Now comes the interesting part: the resident is started but the only option is Terminate. Pause is greyed out and the provider does nothing.

Any ideas?

Well I guess there aren’t many Tablet PC users.

However, the Outlook/Exchange doesn’t appear to offer Pause, same for me (see image 1), I just enabled the provider for this check (I don’t use MS Outlook). But, since this is a plug-in rather than a provider and as such is an integral part of Outlook pause might not be an option.

Could this be happening because it is scanning archived messages on open (see image 2), try uncheckng this option and see if that is the cause.

Thanks… I found out why: the plugin was disabled. I’ve enabled it again on Outlook (Help | About | Disabled Items) and it’s working again.
